Junfeng Li

 

First Director and Chairman of Academic Committee of National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC), President of Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA) , Ninth Annual Zayed Future Energy Prize Lifetime Achievement Award Winner

Mr. Li Junfeng is the First Director of the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation and he currently serving as the Chairman of academic committee of NCSC. He wins Ninth Annual Zayed Future Energy Prize Lifetime Achievement Award in January of the year 2017. He also is a member of the National Energy Advisory Council, a member of the Expert-committee of National High-tech Program, a member of the expert committee of National Ecological and Environmental Protection, a member of the Expert-committee of National Energy Administration Energy Internet, etc. And, he also serves as a consultant of low carbon development for Beijing, Shanghai and Shanxi Provincial People’s Government. Meanwhile, he is invited to be the professor and doctoral supervisor by Renmin University of China and other colleges and universities of China.

Currently, Mr. Li is also the President of both the Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA) and the Renewable Energy Professional Committee of China Energy ResearchSociety. From2011 to 2016, Mr. Li used to serve as the Director General of the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation(NCSC). From1982to 2011, Mr. Li has dedicated his nearly three decades career life worked in Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and used to serve as the Deputy Director General of ERI and the Chairman of Academic Committee of ERI for more than 10 years.

The major publications of Mr. Li are China’s Low Carbon Energy Strategy Study, Strategic Research on Climate Change, Ecological Civilization Construction and Energy Revolution, Study on the Control of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in China, China Renewable Energy Technology Evaluation,Wind power 12, Interpretation of the People's Republic of China Renewable Energy Law, China PV Power Technology Market Analysis, Study on the Development Strategy of Renewable Energy in China, etc. Besides, as one of the main authors, Mr. Lialso participated in the preparation of the IPCC second to fourth evaluation reports.

 

Daniel Kammen

 

Professor of Energy at the University of California, Berkeley, with parallel appointments in the Energy and Resources Group where he serves as Chair, the Goldman School of Public Policy where he directs the Center for Environmental Policy, and the Department of Nuclear Engineering. Kammen is the founding director of the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory (RAEL), Co-Director of the Berkeley Institute of the Environment, and Director of the Transportation Sustainability Research Center. He has founded or is on the board of over 10 companies, and has served the State of California and U.S. federal government in expert and advisory capacities.

Josh Margolis

Josh is an environmental market practitioner. Over 38 years he has structured/brokered an unparalleled array of environmental credit transactions around the globe. Through this and related experience, he has developed a practical understanding as to how well-designed market-based environmental policy instruments can be used to address environmental problems. Josh has provided policy analysis, environmental credit market assessments, environmental permitting, environmental credit regulation evaluation/development, and emissions trading simulation services to thousands of students, government officials, industrial stakeholders, and civil society members that are engaged in the administration of (or are subject to) international, national, regional, and local environmental markets. Josh has supported innovative environmental credit trading strategies including those targeting power plants, mineral processing, petro-chemicals, manufacturing, forest management, carbon farming, and mobile sources. Josh is a co-inventor of a patent that provides for the neutralization/offsetting of equities. Josh graduated with honors in Public Policy Sciences from Duke University.

Karin Corfee

Karin Corfee is a partner in the Energy Practice and is based in San Francisco, California. Key areas of expertise include strategic planning, renewable energy, energy efficiency and distributed generation. She currently serves as the global leader of Guidehouse’s Clean Energy Programs team. The team is comprised of engineers, economists, and social scientists focused on a wide range of clean energy services. Over her 30-year career, Karin has helped develop policies and programs to facilitate increased deployment and optimization of energy efficiency and distributed energy resources (DER).

Karin has conducted numerous high profile studies examining the impacts of distributed energy resources on the grid. Studies include the California Solar Initiative (CSI) Market Transformation Studies, CSI SASH/MASH Impact Evaluation Studies, Net Energy Metering (NEM) Grandfathering Analysis, Value of Solar Analysis, DG PV T&D Impact Study, and several projects related to solar plus storage market adoption and community solar.

Prior to joining Guidehouse, Karin was a Vice President in charge of Markets and Regulation services at KEMA. While at KEMA, she oversaw the Renewable Energy Technical Support and PIER Technical Support contracts for the CEC, representing more than $9 M in services over six years. Strategic planning engagements include the California Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan, CAISO Five-Year Strategic Plan and the New Jersey Renewable Energy Plan.

Karin has an MS in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Political Economy of Natural Resources from the University of California at Berkeley.
